Hello all!
I’m writing this post from home as I’m having to isolate again. This time it’s me that’s tested positive for Covid. It ends at midnight on Sat 6th November – I guess the 2021 final celebrations just weren’t meant to be for me and I’m so sorry I can’t be there for your final week!
The main change for this event is the C25K route due to the bonfire. I’ve explained the route towards the end of this post. We’re certain that you will have the most amazing day and you should be incredibly proud of yourselves.
I’d also like to take this opportunity, on behalf of everybody involved with Blackburn Couch to 5K, to thank all the amazing Leaders and Volunteers. You constantly turn up in all weathers, you never complain about anything and without your selflessness none of this could be possible. Each and every single one of you is incredible!
The dates for next year are: –
- 31st Jan to 31st Mar 2022
- 9th May to 7th July 2022
- 5th Sept to 5th Nov 2022
Please get them in the diary as soon as possible and I’ll be in touch next month to start coordinating the teams again.

Temp C25K Celebration Run Route Due to Bonfire
The route will start from the C25K compound, and head out on the new path by the side of the river (staying on our side of the river), to the end then turn left over the bridge near the potholed car park, immediate turn right once you’ve crossed the bridge onto the path and continue on the normal route to Tower Rd.
Then instead of heading to the cemetery gates, you will turn left on Tower Rd. past the changing rooms, turning left when you get to the potholed car park, head towards the bridge and then turn right onto the path on the Astroturf side of the river.
Turn left onto ‘Victory Bridge’ and when you cross the bridge you will turn left, back down the path you ran out on, repeat the full loop and finish in the compound. The route is exactly 3.16 miles / 5.08km
